Pan health care organization (PANCARE)

PanHealth Care

Thematic Area

Health Sector

Since its inception, PANCARE has prioritized the health sector, recognizing that a healthy ‎population is the cornerstone of sustainable development. The organization implements ‎comprehensive health interventions across Sudan, with a focus on equitable access, preventive ‎care, and emergency response. PANCARE’s health programming is aligned with national policies ‎and delivered in partnership with relevant ministries and community-based structures.‎

Nutrition Sector

PANCARE is dedicated to preventing and addressing all forms of malnutrition among vulnerable ‎populations, particularly children under five (U5), pregnant and lactating women (PLW), and ‎adolescent girls. Recognizing that adequate nutrition is essential to health, development, and ‎resilience, the organization implements both nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive ‎interventions across its programming. PANCARE enhances access to safe, appropriate, and high-‎quality nutrition services while integrating complementary sectors such as health, WASH, and ‎social protection. Where prevention is not sufficient, the organization emphasizes early ‎detection, timely treatment, and comprehensive recovery support through both community-‎based and facility-linked mechanisms.‎

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sector

PANCARE is committed to delivering inclusive and sustainable WASH services that restore ‎dignity, reduce disease transmission, and promote environmental health among conflict-‎affected and underserved populations. The organization provides safe drinking water through ‎the construction, rehabilitation, and treatment of water supply systems; supports the ‎development of sanitation infrastructure and services; promotes hygiene awareness and ‎behavior change; and strengthens institutional and community systems. These interventions aim ‎to enhance public health outcomes in communities, schools, and health care facilities across ‎Sudan.‎

Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) Sector

PANCARE plays an active role in enhancing household resilience and food security by delivering ‎integrated emergency and early recovery livelihood interventions. The organization supports ‎conflict-affected, displaced, and chronically food-insecure populations by facilitating access to ‎productive assets, income-generating opportunities, and climate-adaptive practices that ‎improve self-reliance and long-term stability.‎ PANCARE’s FSL programs are grounded in community engagement, local market analysis, and ‎sustainability principles, with special attention to women-headed households, youth, and other ‎at-risk groups.‎

Social Cohesion intervention ‎

Social cohesion is a foundational pillar of PANCARE’s work, particularly in communities deeply ‎affected by conflict, displacement, and prolonged instability. Recognizing the importance of ‎peaceful coexistence and inclusive recovery, PANCARE designs and implements community-‎driven interventions that foster a shared sense of belonging, mutual trust, and collective ‎responsibility.‎ PANCARE’s social cohesion interventions are integrated across sectors and framed within a ‎broader peacebuilding and resilience agenda. The organization works closely with community ‎leaders, civil society actors, youth groups, and local authorities to co-create inclusive solutions ‎that advance long-term stability and social healing.‎

Emergencies and Relief

PANCARE maintains a strong commitment to timely and effective humanitarian response in the ‎face of disasters, whether triggered by natural hazards such as floods, droughts, and epidemics, ‎or human-induced crises including armed conflict and displacement. The organization operates ‎with a state of operational readiness, ensuring rapid mobilization of resources, staff, and ‎partnerships to alleviate suffering and protect lives.‎ PANCARE’s agility and field presence allow it to respond swiftly and responsibly, upholding ‎humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality, and independence.‎

Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening

Capacity building for state government institutions and community-based structures is a core ‎cross-cutting priority within all PANCARE’s sectoral interventions. Whether in Health and ‎Nutrition, WASH, or Protection and Livelihoods, the organization integrates tailored training, ‎technical assistance, and systems development to strengthen local ownership, sustainability, and ‎service delivery.‎ By embedding institutional strengthening into each sector, PANCARE ensures that its ‎interventions not only meet immediate humanitarian needs but also contribute to resilient ‎systems and long-term development outcomes.‎

Protection Sector

PANCARE’s protection interventions aim to prevent and reduce exposure to harm while ‎ensuring that the rights, dignity, and well-being of individuals, especially those affected by ‎conflict, displacement, and marginalization, are upheld in accordance with international ‎humanitarian, human rights, and refugee law. The organization adopts a comprehensive and ‎survivor-centered approach, promoting access to justice, psychosocial well-being, and inclusive ‎community protection.‎
